Personality:

Steve Rogers is courageous, righteous, kind, strong, and stubborn; everything a superhero should be. He fights to protect and to stand up to bullies. He follows his heart, does what he thinks is best and has the inner strength to stand by his decisions. He knows what it feels like to be weak and understands the value and weight of power. He has compassion for the innocent and despite all that he's lost he keeps good in his heart. His losses haven't made him bitter or hateful. They’ve only helped him appreciate what he has and what there is to protect. Love, family and friends keep him strong and even though they’ve changed in the last 70 years he always keeps those he’s lost in his heart. This gives him his humanity and morality which is unshakable.

Steve is an extremely dedicated person. He will do what he thinks is right even if it’s disobeying orders, friends or common sense. This is a reason that he will never give up on Bucky and why he can make the sacrifices he does to protect others. He is a true hero not by acting heroic but being heroic at his core. This often costs him but he’s always thinking of others over himself. This is why he fights Bucky, in Winter Soldier, when his best friend stands in his way because there are millions of civilian’s lives at stake.

He also has a commanding presence, charming charisma and firm leadership skills. These have developed over the time that he led his team during WWII however there are hints that Steve was simply predisposed to such behavior after having a best friend like Bucky. Bucky and Steve's relationship is such that they are both constantly inspiring the other to be better. This can be seen during the flashback of Steve’s mother’s funeral but also countless times through their interactions in Civil War.

Steve, while set in his own ways, is able to accept others for who they are. Not what powers they have or how they appear but simply who they are as a person. This is why he’s able to work with Tony despite the fact that the two of them constantly but heads. It’s also one of the reasons he reaches out to Wanda because he accepts her and wants her to accept herself. He’s very caring, compassionate, as well as loyal to his friends. This is seen constantly with Bucky but also in the small things that he does to be there for the people he cares about. He visits Peggy as often as he can even as he slowly slips from her memories. He’ll never leave a friend behind or let them feel alone. There are hard choices, in Civil War Steve has to choose between friends but he didn’t kill Tony and he wouldn’t. He knew that he can’t protect all of his friends but he’s damn well going to try.

While being Captain America, Steve is also just a boy from Brooklyn in the 1940’s. He’s really awkward when talking to girls. He slowly was getting back into hobbies like drawing but he’s always a little out of place. This draws his attention to being a solider and focusing on helping people more than his own pastimes. He spends a lot of time training and running only because it’s what he knows. He does get excited, much like a school boy, when he feels like he’s able to fit in or understand something. These instances is when Steve’s innocents really shows on the surface.
